Wenclair -Detective AU
Requested by @henribellani Thank You!
Was originally a one shot centered around a reveal but I felt the need to write about the beginning of the case... This may turn into a 4 part fanfic but IDK so we'll see😋
...
"Detective Addams please you have to help me" the rugged looking man begged. "You're the best detective this side of the tracks" he attempted to flatter her.
"I appreciate your compliments but I don't take cases like yours they are a frivolous waste of my time" Wednesday Addams spoke clearly and with a authoritative tone, attempting to deflect the man in front of her.
"Please I'll pay double the asking" he negotiated but Wednesday just stood up from her desk and adjusted her black fitted blazer, shaking her head.
"Mr ..." The name alluded her for a moment and the man finished "Sinclair" he reminded her.
"Mr Sinclair, I'm sure you're incredibly worried about your wife but I don't do this for the money and... " She couldn't find the right words to say that 'The case was boring'
Wednesday Addams was one of the greatest detective. Unfortunately her unethical methods had forced her out of her police force job after 7 years of dedication. Now she was the most sought after Freelance Private Detective, not by choice, but it gave her the freedom she didn't have when sanctioned by so many rules. Rules of course that she despised and refused to adhere to on many occasion.
So now she was thriving as a Private Detective but she was very picky with who she helped. If she was uninterested she would decline to help and felt no remorse for turning down clients. This man was no exception, it was a classic case of run away wife and she could tell by the description of his family.
Earlier on he had explained that him, his wife, his 4 sons and daughter were a loving family and she had no reason to just disappear. No reason? It's a repulsively boring life it sounded, who wouldn't wanna run for the hills the detective decided.
"I'm sorry I cannot help you" she apologised instead of finishing her sentence. This was too easy of a case she could find the woman in the matter of minutes if she wanted too but she had concluded the wife did not want to be found.
The man sighed in defeat "Okay I understand I-"
"Daddy what is taking so long?" the woman who entered the room uninvited was a rather petite, short-haired blonde lady. She was dressed in a hot pink sleek jumpsuit with a bright white fur coat draped over her shoulders. She looked around Wednesday's age of 28 but she could have passed for a 21 year old 1950's movie actress the way she was dressed. She had smiled widely when she said it but she still seemed rather annoyed.
"I'm sorry sweetie but Miss Addams here is-"
"Detective." Wednesday spat rather rudely but it seemed necessary considering he had diminished her profession.
"Yes yes sorry detective" He raised his hands in defense and made a calm down motion at Detective Addams.
Wednesday averted her eyes from the stuttering and stumbling man and gazed at the blonde girl who judging by the term "Daddy" meant she was the aforementioned daughter.
Detective Addams examined the blonde extensively trying to figure her out. She trailed her eyes across the colourful woman and smirked slightly at her own thoughts.
"Enid sweetie Detective-" the man began but was again interrupted.
"Ah so you are Enid Sinclair" Wednesday walked towards her checking her out. She will admit to unfortunately developing feelings of attraction towards specific people the older she got but of course would never act on these little urges. She had more self control then that but that didn't mean she couldn't look.
"That's me" she beamed like a child which did not match up to her oddly sophisticated attire or her Father's lumberjack look. She held her hand out for Wednesday to shake but all she did was stare at it
"I apologise but I am not one for physical contact between strangers" she explained the absence of her hand "Also, I find it imperative that I point out to you the concept of knocking before entering a room" Wednesday educated her quirking an eyebrow in her direction.
"Huh" she shrugged "okay umm sorry?" accepting her reasoning and removing her hand.
Detective Addams was intrigued by this Enid character. She opposed everything Wednesday stood for ... Colour, cheerful attitude, happy ... And well ...blonde. She made no attempt to hide the fact that she was watching the woman and couldn't help but let that little voice inside her head admire her beauty. But regardless she was still keeping her detective hat on and remaining professional with her inquires.
Of course with Wednesday's not so subtle eyes scanning Enid she returned the favour with a snide remark.
"Take a picture it will last longer" Enid raised an eyebrow looking the Detective up and down herself. She was quite a dark character for such a pale woman. She had her hair plaited neatly and wrapped in a bun that was steady on the top of her head. She wore a black striped blazer, a tidy button up black shirt and trousers... Also black, that flared over her clean dark boots. Enid almost cringed at the lack of colour but could admire the style regardless.
Of course she took this literally, walked over to her desk, pulled out a Polaroid camera and before Enid could protest she snapped a picture
"Daaaad" she immediately whined pointing towards Wednesday and turning towards her Father who just shrugged in response. When Enid urged him further by waving her hand in a circle, palm out, in a 'go on' motion, he stood with a straight back and turned towards Detective Addams.
He cleared his throat "What are you doing?" He asked the detective.
"Oddly enough" she raised her eyebrows " I'm doing as I was told" she shook the picture from its slot and shook it with a smirk on her face.
"You can't do that" Enid complained, getting very close to Wednesday's face and attempting to grab the photo.
"Detective Addams" the whining woman's Father stood and raised a hand to de-escalate the situation but wasn't really sure of how to handle the odd occurrence.
"I'll take the case" she turned her head towards him whilst her body remained facing towards Enid Sinclair moving the photo from in the air, behind her, towards the wall ... Just anytime she attempted to grab the photo she would move it away quickly and with ease, still facing her Father. It was as if she was challenging him.
"But you said-" he started confused.
"Would you like me to decline again?" She interrupted him.
"Daaaaaad" Enid whined again. To see a fully grown woman call out to her Father like a child amused Wednesday. Clearly their relationship was built up over a distaste for another Human and Wednesday had now assumed that their oh so happy family had secrets she would enjoy digging through.
"Honey come here" he gestured for Enid to walk over to him and she obliged. It was like watching a Wolf Cub being protected in the wild. 'Fascinating' Wednesday thought.
" Umm Miss Addams could we-" he pointed at the photo but after noticing the harsh death glare that covered Detective Addams features he realised what he had done and immediately backtracked.
"Detective sorry" he apologised squeezing his eyes shut in annoyance at his own ignorance. "Could we maybe have that photo back?" He asked politely.
"No" she responded bluntly snapping a pic of her Father aswell.
"Wha-" Enid gasped with a confused look and furrowed brow. This entertained Wednesday and she had to avoid eye contact to prevent the unwelcome smile that almost made it past her defenses.
"You are all my suspects I need pictures of you for my murder board" she explained at the 2 dumbfounded Sinclair's.
"Suspects?!" The Man suddenly became very frustrated and confused " What do you mean suspects I came to you asking for help I'm not paying you to investigate us!" His voice rose with every word but Detective Addams remained straight faced as she stared down the man, challenging him in his rage. As he continued she shook the photo lightly, unbothered by his outburst.
"And what do you mean murder? Do you think someone killed my wife?!" He became panicked and hadn't even noticed Wednesday rolling her eyes but Enid had and she cocked her head to the side quizzically. Well this detective was a bit of a Bitch Enid thought to herself while her Father just continued.
"She's missing!" He yelled again but it seemed as though he was trying to convince himself rather than anyone else. "Missing." He concluded with little to no evidence and a lot quieter than before as his brain began to think about all the horrible things that may have happened.
Wednesday took a deep breath in "Listen if you want me to investigate then you'll have to allow me to do this" she explained although his permission was not necessarily needed.
She observed the distraught man, watching as he clutched the back of the chair with one hand while he used the other to run across his beard in obvious distress. Too obvious? Detective Addams thought for a moment before deciding his reactions were genuine. "Also I feel the need to let you know that this was a test which you passed" she congratulated him although he was not sure what the detective was speaking about.
"You however" she pointed accusingly towards Enid who was already looking at her irritated "failed" she informed her then walked towards her freshly cleaned whiteboard grabbing some blue tac and sticking up the photo of Enid she had just taken.
"What do you mean I failed?! What test? " she practically squeaked out with a bit of concern laced in her tone of voice.
"Why didn't you react to me blatantly telling a lie about your Mother, unless you know it is true" she stepped forward now nearly head to head with Enid staring deeply into her eyes trying to elicit a specific reaction. Enid remained steady though her usual clumsiness remained dormant out of pure irritation toward the very invasive detective that her Father so adamantly insisted on coming to see.
"I was too distracted by my Father's distress" she spoke up, easily lying to Detective Addams.
"Hmm doubtful" the detective spoke her thoughts aloud tapping her chin and pursing her lips.
"what!" She shouted in shock. "Daddy do something" she complained about Wednesday's methods again. It was honestly incredible that she could sound like such a spoiled trust find baby given the fact that she was not well off. But the man just shrugged apologetically, remaining silent causing the blonde woman to huff in annoyance.
Wednesday was rather entertained by the interaction between the Father daughter duo. Here she was at 28 years old alone, avoiding her family, throwing herself into her job and she was quite content. Yet this Enid Woman intrigued the detective. Still attached to her Father on an unhealthy level it seemed so she wondered what her relationship with the missing Mother was like. She could tell Enid was hiding something, in fact it felt like this entire persona she put forth was a complete lie and Wednesday couldn't wait to investigate her.
Her curiousity had gotten the best of her and as she flicked her eyes towards the photo and then back towards Enid Sinclair she smirked deviantly.
Enid of course just blinked in confusion, feeling visibly nervous and avoiding the soul piercing eyes of Detective Addams.
So when Wednesday finally spoke again Enid felt a mixture of worry and relief.
"I'll need a recent photo of your wife" she said to the Man but barely glanced in his direction still focused solely of the nervous woman in front of her. He fumbled around for his wallet and picked out a photo, he presumably kept for admiration, from a slot and handed it to the detective.
"Ok thank you for coming" she ushered them both out the door and they stumbled over their own feet turning back to Detective Addams attempting to speak but promptly being shut down by the harsh slam of the door in their faces.
She then walked up to her whiteboard, placing her hand on her chin
"Where are you Esther Sinclair?" She said out loud to the empty room.
"and what's your deal, Enid Sinclair?" she said her thoughts allowed again before placing the picture of the Mother up and getting started on the curious case.

Detective Wenclair AU 2
Enid narrating out loud:
Thursday, October 31st. The city streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain. Hidden in the chaos is the element, waiting to strike like snakes. And I'm there too. Watching.
Yoko: Enid, isn’t that from a Batman movie?
Enid: *eats more of her cigarette candies* What can I say? Being a detective for thirty years really changes you as a person.
Wednesday: Enid, you’re eighteen.
Enid: *spits out her candy* I’m getting too old for this.

Wenclair -Detective AU Part 2/4
Yeah I had to continue this lil story I got inspired! Thanks again @henribellani here's part 2
Detective Addams had spent the better part of 14 hours delving into the world of the Sinclair Family with insatiable curiousity. She had followed leads out in the wild, researched online and even stalked the entire family during this time.
The Missing Women in question, the Mother, seemed to be more or less a lonely woman who gripped onto her children and nursed them into submission to appease her own wishes. Now if that wasn't a motive she didn't know what was, considering the idea of suffocating affection caused Wednesday's entire body to cringe.
Now as abhorrent as Wednesday found technology in her line of work it had become a necessary resource which she would use on occasion and this case in particular needed it.
The Sinclair's were not rich, not plastered across the media, little information in any ancestry books and no current overview of them at all. So she turned to social media where, fortunately for her, the so called innocent Enid Sinclair posted an amalgamation of dangerously detailed information on her entire life. "Ridiculously incompetent" the detective found herself muttering at the screen on multiple occasions.
Her Murder board had grew 3 sizes with connections to people, last known whereabouts and police reports plastered across the once plain whiteboard. She had papers haphazardly strewn about her desk and floor and honestly her brain began to hurt with the amount of information she had found.
Wednesday would occasionally find her eyes drifting to the photo of this Enid Sinclair character and would unwillingly smirk at it. She couldn't tell whether the photo peaked her interest because of her obvious attraction to the woman or if it was her budding suspicion of her. But either way Wednesday right then and there decided she would pursue this lead first before her curiosity ate her alive.
Luckily she didn't have to wait long for this to happen
...
Later on that night Enid could be found creeping towards the door of Detective Addams' office suspiciously. She looked around before removing a Bobby pin from her hair and effortlessly using it to unlock the door. With a quiet click the door unlocked and she opened it, silently sliding inside the room and closing the door behind her.
She ran towards the board with hast shining her phone light across all of the information that hadn't occupied that space earlier. Her eyes scanned the material worriedly attempting to determine how far the Detective had come in her investigation.
"Find what you were looking for?" The voice appeared as if from thin air and Enid gasped stumbling backwards as she looked towards the corner of the room where Detective Addams sat. A disapproving look covered her face, her arms crossed over her chest, an eyebrow quirked upwards in a questioning manner.
"I uhh I-" she stammered out stepping backwards in a feeble attempt to remove herself from this incredibly awkward encounter. Wednesday didn't answer and instead let the girl incessantly stumble over her words while she took pleasure in the reaction she had caused.
"ummm-" Enid scrunched her nose in annoyance pulling at her black leather jacket and adjusting her posture "What are you doing sat in the dark?" She questions Detective Addams in an attempt to deflect suspicion away from her.
She had obviously failed.
"I'll ask the questions" Wednesday sprang up from her seat and moved towards Enid at an alarming speed. This made Enid practically gulp with guilt and fear as she leaned back in an attempt to avoid what she thought was about to be a physical altercation.
But the detective just stopped abruptly Infront of her.
"What are you doing snooping around MY office, in the dark aaaaat" she raised her arm to glance at her watch "1:15am" she spoke " Night owl are we?" She smirked again, tilting her head, awaiting an explanation from the apprehensive woman.
"I often enjoy a little night time stroll?" Enid smiled nervously along with her own sarcastic and obvious lie. She flitted her eyes between Wednesday's own and her surroundings, suspicion starting to invade from her aura.
"Me too." The detective spoke flatly "Care to accompany me on one?" Wednesday immediately responded, looking at the blonde expectantly, her voice dripping with sinister undertones.
"Sounds oddly threatening" Enid's smile faltered and she balled her hands into fists in an attempt to hide her anxious state.
"It was supposed to" Wednesday flicked her eyebrow up and stepped closer to Enid, drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
Enid let out an audible "Heh" involuntarily letting the detective know she was nervous. "I'm a little busy right now maybe later?" Enid asked rhetorically.
"I can see that" Wednesday flicked her eyes towards her murder board then back to Enid's guilty, but beautifully blue, eyes. She refused to tear her own eyes away from her for longer than a second, this woman was a slippery one. One wrong move and she could see herself ending up like Esther Sinclair if she was not careful.
"Well you seem awfully busy" Enid said taking a small step back and turning to leave "So I'm just gonna go-" Once facing the door she had scurried along towards it but her voice was cut off in its tracks when she heard something whizzed past her ear.
Her eyes squeezed shut as she heard a sharp Thud! And a scoff from the detective behind her. When Enid opened her eyes, they immediately went wide when she saw a beautifully crafted pointed blade sticking out of the door.
Wednesday threw a knife at her?!
"Are you crazy?!" She practically screamed turning back to Detective Addams to scream at her.
"Possibly." She agreed "but clearly I'm severely out of practice which is a much more pressing issue that requires my attention" she looked on at the knife protruding from the wooden door in annoyance.
"You threw a knife at me?!" Enid yelled again while Wednesday ignored the panicked women in front of her.
"Yes" Wednesday admitted, as if that wasn't an incredibly dangerous thing to occur "and I missed" she seemed disappointed in herself "I must be more fatigued than I realised." She pursed her lips at the knife then stared back at Enid.
"You're ..." Enid's face twisted into one of confusion "You're not like other detectives" she observed, shaking with the thought of Wednesday committing attempted murder on her.
"I'd be inclined to thank you if I held anything you said in high regard" Wednesday smirked. Of course she actually felt flattered by what Enid had said but showing this was not in her nature. She's lucky the words thank you were even present in that sentence.
"Okay what do you want from me?" Enid breathed out looking at the knife , fearful of her life if she was not to cooperate. When her eyes returned to Wednesday she frowned.
Detective Addams walked past her to retrieve the knife and as she wiggled it around and yanked it from its place she turned back to the blonde woman with a sinister smile.
"The truth" she used the knife to point at her and Enid huffed out a sigh of relief. To think Enid actually found the Detective attractive after her initial interaction, rude but attractive nonetheless. And now she was about to be her victim... 'wow bad taste much' she scolded her inner monologue before getting back to her current situation.
And then she composed herself and smiled ready to give Detective Addams exactly what she wanted.
"That's rather vague but sure ..." Enid held back a pride look as she began "Once in the 10th grade I cheated on my finals and no one ever found out. Then when I was in college I totaled my car but put the blame on another person, I felt incredibly terrible of course but at the end of day I-"
"Stop." Wednesday demanded, knowing exactly what Enid was up to.
"Oh but..." She innocently twirled he hair with her finger and pouted at the detective "I thought you wanted the truth" she up-played her ditsy nature, knowing full well it would agitate the Detective.
"You know that is not what I was referring too" Wednesday shook her head slightly, trying to squash down the urge to give into her anger.
"Oh and what was it you were referring too?" Enid asked, forcing back the proud smile that threatened her lips.
"Don't play games with me Miss Sinclair" Wednesday warned.
"But I love games, I'm very good at them, I play them all the time" something about her change in tone, caused Wednesday's guard to fly up.
"Yes well I'm obligated to inform you that I have never lost a game in my life." Wednesday spoke stepping up to challenge the blonde woman.
"Me either, I always win" She found a spark of confidence and followed suit stepping towards Wednesday. "You have no idea the kind of tricks I have up my sleeves" Enid informed her.
"Tread lightly" She lightly threatened the intruder. She wasn't quite sure whether it was to warn her of how guilty she seemed if she were to place that sentence over her current case or if it because the Woman was actually getting to her violent side.
"Ooo another threat I'm terrified" she waved her hands sarcastically, emitting a somewhat childish energy In front of Wednesday.
"You should be" the way Wednesday said it was dark and dripping with sinister undertones. Enid immediately retreated feeling the air in the room shift, and her nervousness made an unwanted appearance once again.
Enid shook her head and placed her hands on her hips, she couldn't believe the audacity of detective Addams right now. So she went straight into her defensive mode and attacked Wednesday with her words.
"Ummm you are like... Scary scary, morbid even I should be questioning you about a murder not the other way around" she spat at her with an irritated scowl evident on her face. And there it was the defensive nature peaking its head into their conversation.
The detective had been waiting for this.
"I'm not questioning you about a murder" Wednesday furrowed her brow " I'm questioning you on a missing persons case Miss Sinclair" she spoke and Enid visibly looked uncomfortable, letting her arms drop to her side and her eyes widened slightly with realisation.
"Unless" she paused tapping her chin with her index finger almost comically "You know something I don't" she quirked and eyebrow up. She had caught her out no doubt about it and she was ready to use this uneasiness in Enid to force a confession from her.
When Enid didn't immediately respond Wednesday stepped forward to apply pressure to the woman.
"Wellllll?" She asked again, now up close and personal with her just staring accusingly at Enid with morbid delight.

WENCLAIR :: catch me, if you can
links :: WATTPAD :: AO3 :: [CHAPTER 2 - '23:59']
a/n: i suck at english, it's not my first language, have mercy but not really--yell at me if a part doesn't make sense, i did not proof read because my wrist is injured :D
Chapter 1 - 00:00
“We got a tip. Lone Wolf’s next target is the Rav’n happening tonight, Nevermore’s biggest charity event.” Wednesday hears through her earpiece, as she’s going through her files in her office. “We’re unsure of who the target is, seeing as none of the guests tonight have been involved in recent illegal activity.” The woman in black picked up pictures and a handful of red yarn. She sticks one onto the board of photos and strings, creating a bigger picture of the case itself.
The Rav’n. We only have 3 suspected targets in mind, all very influential people in Jericho. It may be a small town in Vermont but it’s home to some of the most influential people of my generation at least. The first one being Bianca Barclay–CEO of MorningSong. Regarding Lone Wolf’s affixation towards killing large influential people, Barclay might just be at the top of their list. The only reason I doubt this notion is because that company recently improved due to her leadership. The illegal use of Siren song was immediately halted once she rose to power. If we’re taking that psychopath’s ego into consideration, Bianca’s the least likely target tonight.
Wednesday tacks another photo onto the wall, with a sigh. The next one could be Xavier Thrope. His dad might have put a hit on his head due to his recent publicity murals going against the ethics of his father’s company. The same idea with Barclay–it doesn’t match the killer’s intent. And Lone Wolf was never confirmed to be a hitman.
Then it only leads to one suspect left. Wednesday slowly sticks her own picture to the wall, tracing the red yarn to the case name “Lone Wolf”. Wednesday slowly steps back, taking in all the information, reminiscing on every incident and victim this murderer has produced in a span of six months. In her 26 years of life, Wednesday has never met a case that’s perplexed her. It’s like they’re teasing me. I might just fall in love. The detective couldn’t help but smile. Leaning onto the edge of her table, she couldn’t help but be mesmerized by it all. Whoever this is might just be the greatest psychopath to ever live, next to my own uncle.
The Lone Wolf case is described to be the country’s most devastating homicide in history. Lapsing for six months straight, a murder popped up in different parts of the United States at perplexing distances. Within 10 hours of a murder in California, a 51-year-old electric car tycoon to another in Florida of a 76-year-old politician–Lone Wolf was deemed a patriot-murderer and a hero. The country has split in either support or suppression of this maniac’s actions. I’ve never considered ethical murder to be something that would interest me. Wednesday traced the red string from the state of Florida and added another politician to the ‘victims’. But somehow this is unfolding so well, it’s almost satisfying seeing how their work throws the country into shambles.
The bounty on their head is the largest since the Hussein brothers in 2003. Theirs was $30 million. Lone Wolf’s is $45 million. With politicians, CEOs, and some random people getting caught in the crossfire of Lone Wolf’s wrath–people of power need them to be put to rest so they can maintain their power.
Of course, Wednesday has no interest in bounty money. Her family has accumulated lots over years and years for turning in their own kin and busting them out. The psychopathic gene passes on but for Wednesday her thirst for outwitting a mystery outweighs even her own being. Wednesday believes she’s dancing her own tango with the Lone Wolf. No one has yet to catch a glimpse of their face nor the sound of their voice and Wednesday sleeps miserably thinking about the enigma that is her suspect.
Wednesday inhales deeply, I simply cannot wait to see what this horrible fellow has planned next.
“Alpha, do you copy? Bravo is in position.”
“Alpha here arrived at point Echo. Any sights on the targets tonight?”
“Negative. Waiting on Charlie to check in.”
Wednesday gazes through the people among the crowd, upon entrance, everything is dawned white and themed with ice and snow. Tables were garnished with silver platters and icicle decor. But in Addams fashion, Wednesday had to come in well-dressed, for a funeral. Decorated in black, the woman kept on a formal yet dashing look that caught the eyes of every woman, man, or person in the audience. Whether the attention was good or bad, that was the least of Wednesday’s worries. Finding a moment to speak with her suspected victims, on the other hand, was.
Headquarters hacked into the Rav’n’s event coordinator’s computer just in time before seating was sent out to all who was invited. With Wednesday being a town celebrity due to her detective excellence and family name, her invitation was not hard to come by at all. But sitting with this city’s biggest influencers like her current suspected victims for the night? It was a job for the professionals.
Eugene was the man behind the earpiece, alongside her brother Pugsley as Bravo and Charlie being Tyler. Tyler was a trusted source in one of Wednesday’s cases, whom she decided to keep around since he always managed to make himself useful. But today, that did not seem to prove true.
“Charlie, do you copy?” Eugene states. “Bro come on, we need you in position ASAP, Barclay is about to make her entrance.”
Wednesday turns to her attention to the entrance, as everyone did. The woman was dressed in an alluring sequin dress that complimented her complexion and eyes very well. All it took was one look and people would simply fold over her sharp eyes and cunning intellect. Wednesday enjoyed the moments she shared with Barclay. The young entrepreneur always set the bar higher for other local CEO’s, Wednesday commends her merciless demeanor. They’ve worked together some time in her career. Wednesday caught the tax frauds in her company and even helped prevent Bianca from going to jail over being framed by her own mother’s business. Though Wednesday wouldn’t call it helping–the woman had the ulterior motive of simply being curious if Bianca actually did it.
Complimenting Bianca’s right hand was Xavier Thorpe, the second suspected victim. Recently painting a mural in protest of his father’s recent activity, Xavier became an online superstar overnight. Building a measly 10 million followers on TikTok, Xavier was almost as popular as Lone Wolf. His murals that his posts that gather awareness on certain topics like Outcast slavery, drug wars, Outcast trafficking, and other things made him quite a target. Online and in-person. I suppose I should have expected his weak self to come with a companion, seeing as he does value his life.
“Yo Tyler, what is going on man? The trio is about to sit down at the front! The charity auction is about to start!” Eugene yells, causing Wednesday to wince at the sudden increase in volume. Imbeciles. What are they doing? The detective thought as she nodded at the duo while sitting down at their table.
“--Mffsh–static–She–”
“Oh shit–Wednesday I think they got Tyler!” Pugsley utters while looking around in his hiding spot armed with bombs and other explosive assortments. Cramped in a tiny space, Pugsley’s job was to assure offense was available. The Addams weren’t sure what kind of outcast the Lone Wolf was going to be, as the rumors of them being an actual lone wolf were never confirmed. If it were true, they would have been a wolf who’s never wolf’d out–causing their hormonal imbalances to subvert into equilibrium by making the body compensate. Meaning they would have super strength and speed, along with very enhanced senses.
If that were the case, it would be problematic for Wednesday. Pugsley’s explosives are too wide-ranged. Over time, humans grew on Wednesday. To her, the biggest feat to feed her homicidal tendencies is to purge the bad fruits while leaving the good fruit for feasting. It’s much harder. That’s why Wednesday likes it better. That’s also why Wednesday likes her case so much. Almost obsessed with it or even the killer themself. How does one manage to find moral clarity to justly kill a person? Not just one, but multiple? How Wednesday yearns to be like them. Sometimes she finds herself amused by how they do things. Though her team for tonight was prepped for the worst, it seemed like those measures were displaced protecting the wrong person. Their enemy was much more reckless than they perceived them to be–More like a joyrider than a skilled race track driver.
Lost in thought, Wednesday found herself staring at the stage, unaware a new friend has joined their table.
“Enid Sinclair? In the flesh!” Bianca booms, standing up quickly and rushing to the blonde to give her a hug. “It’s been ages! How have you been?”
Wednesday paid no mind to the blonde until she heard something that piqued her interest. “I’ve been amazing Bianca! I’ve been all over the country getting the hottest scoops for CNN! They’re eating my articles up!” All over the country? Suspicious.
“I mean I would too! If I were brave enough to write so much about the Lone Wolf, I’d pay lots for that type of tea.” Bianca replies, chuckling into her hand. “It’s so good to see you here. Yoko’s been crying about how much she misses you if only tonight wasn’t a blood moon. Ugh, she’s going to gloat the moment I tell her you were here. OMG let’s take a selfie for her!”
Enid Sinclair. I did not see her on the guest list. And she’s a journalist following Lone Wolf? I have to take a mental note to look into her later—
“You must be THE Wednesday Addams! I’ve heard so much about you and your feats! One of my coworkers actually interviewed you for the scoop on your recent outcast trafficking bust! Your work is amazing.” Enid overly gushes, her colorful getup was giving Wednesday a headache. “Where’s your partner?” The other girl asks, eerie with a smile different from the one she presented to Bianca.
The question caught Wednesday off guard since she never mentioned coming with a partner and Tyler is nowhere to be found. “I didn’t come with one.” The detective answers frankly, eyeing the colorful girl from head to toe. “What about yours?”
“He never answered my calls or texts about it, so here I am. Alone. Want to be partners instead?” So this was her game. Wednesday thought, then replied curtly. “No thank you Ms. Sinclair, I’m quite comfortable doing things alone.”
“Oh come on Ms. Addams, it will be fun! Plus it’s not a Rav’n if you aren’t here with a partner to dance with!” The blonde eggs on, looking at Bianca and Xavier for backup–who were both just watching this moment unfold.
“I would pay good money to watch the Wednesday Addams kill the floor.” Xavier responds, with Bianca adding, “Baby don’t say that, knowing Wednesday she might literally kill the floor.”
“It’ll be fun Ms. Addams! It’s not like there’s anything holding you back! It’s just an innocent little dance.” The blonde continues, standing up and stretching a hand for the girl painted black. I would rather wear pink than dance with this walking rainbow vomit. But Wednesday felt something in her stomach. She wasn’t sure if that was the corset speaking or her gut feeling–the kind that usually leads her right into death’s cold comforting arms. Either way, her curiosity was piqued. This new shiny colorful character was suspicious to Wednesday.
Little did she know, she was right on the mark.
Enid lead the other girl to the middle of the dancing scene, hand in hand they tangoed to the music. In sync, their movements argued like a married couple and complimented the other like a newly wed. The music created a romantic scene between the two, surprising each other how well they knew the other’s next step. Others around them stopped their dance only to indulge in the bewitching conversation the two spoke with no words. Just glances and the swaying of their bodies.
Unaware, Wednesday didn’t catch that Enid found her supposed partner for the night comfortable in someone else’s arms. Out of embarrassment, she couldn’t help but cut her mission short and created a plan to flee the scene as soon as possible.
Nearing the end, Enid found herself behind Wednesday, looking at her pale nape, enthralled at how vulnerable her target was, on this full-blood moon. But instead of doing her justice the way she did her last victim, Ron DeSantis, she wanted to make Wednesday suffer a little more. The way she liked it. Leaning into Wednesday’s ear, she offered the shorter woman a warning.
“You’re quite an easy target, Addams.” Enid smiles, licking the side of Wednesday’s neck and bidding her prey farewell with a kiss on the nape. And tasty too. Enid thought, licking her lips as she parted ways from Wednesday–disappearing into the crowd. She said her goodbyes to Xavier and Bianca, running out of the building like Cinderella when the clock strikes 12.
The girl in black searched for her partner, swinging her head left and right looking pink-colored hair. But Wednesday didn’t react fast enough and the wolf had already vacated the scene.. She was still perplexed by the blonde’s words and stupefied by the feeling of her tongue gliding against the side of her neck. Disgusting. She thought, but in a way she would think gutting dead animals and examining dead bodies were disgusting. The girl in black would never admit it out loud but she was enchanted tonight. She was effectively charmed by the most colorful thing she’s ever met in her life, ironically, for someone who believed the only other tolerable color was red. A dangerous stranger. Just the way Wednesday Addams likes it.
When she gained her senses, she reunited with Bianca and Xavier, who shared their condolences for the painted girl in black to have lost her partner for the night a second time. Lost in thought, Wednesday loomed through the auction, buying an antique Chinese finger trap that was put into auction by the Addams’ family themselves–only to win it back for sheer flaunt of their wealth. Towards the end of the auction, Ajax, Enid’s supposed partner auctioned off sculptures created in collaboration with Xavier Thorpe. They pitched to the crowd that the sculptures were replicas of Lone Wolf’s victims and to be smashed during an event later into the week in protest against those who’ve put a bounty on the country’s favored vigilante.
Out of the victims lined up, one, in particular, seemed unfamiliar. This to Wednesday screamed red flags because not only did she know every victim of Lone Wolf’s by heart, she now understands how she murdered them too. By sheer, brute, force. Wednesday thought as she looked at the victims’ positions they were sculpted in. The statue in question, one of Ron DeSantis, a decrepit Floridian politician, was positioned on the ground, which his back seemingly resting on something and arms covering his face that was etched with fear and distraught. This is oddly similar to the other statues.
As the night matured, Wednesday left the event and returned home with more than enough information to keep her awake for weeks. She spent that night compiling evidence against Ajax and his suspicious sculptures and found him to now be the prime suspect for all of these murders. One especially from Enid Sinclair as she generously provided by licking Wednesday’s neck.
Usually, her melancholic and lackluster days suited her, but tonight she was accompanied by an ever-growing hunger to outwit the enemy. She doesn’t like it when people are steps ahead of her.Wednesday slept a miserable 2 hours before she was greeted in the morning by Chief Donovan himself that his son, who was also her partner, Tyler was found dead. Headed for the scene as fast as she could, she couldn’t help but get excited over the death of her former partner. New suspects, new clues, and more work. Wednesday let out a laugh at how messy things got so quickly. I’m just dying to see what kind of mess Miss Sinclair made of Tyler.
Arriving at the scene, Wednesday greeted Donovan with a nod and was caught up with the scene assessment. No DNA samples, no footprints, and no murder weapon. She made her way toward the scene of the murder; smelling the forest musk being overtaken by the iron smell of blood. Tyler was found on the scene with all limbs broken, two of which were pulled out. The cause of death was shock due to sudden blood loss, estimated around 8 hours ago, just 2 hours after Enid left the scene. After Wednesday examined the corpse, she felt a wonderful chill in her bones, realizing just how powerful and dangerous the enemy truly was. Keeping her smile to herself, Wednesday faced one of her co-workers and asked if anything else was on left on the scene.
“There was a note left on Tyler’s left jacket pocket, we think it’s for you.” The man said. Wednesday quickly puts on gloves and took the note from the officer’s hand and it read: “I’ll leave my tastiest meal for last. Catch me if you can, detective.”
“Cara mia, I think I’ve found the love of my life.”

Detective Wenclair AU 7
Yoko: What do you guys usually bring?
Wednesday: A knife and some handcuffs. Im not a gun type of person.
Yoko: What about you? What do you bring, Enid?
Enid: I just bring this! *pulls out a magnifying glass out of her jacket pocket*
Wednesday shakes her head: She insists she brings it. I have no clue why.
Enid: Every great detective needs a magnifying glass!
Wednesday: *sighs* So true Enid. So true.
Yoko leans into Wednesday: *whispers* Does she actually solve any cases?
Wednesday: I solve them. She gets all the credit.
Yoko: And you let her take all the credit? Why?
Wednesday: I mean look at her. It makes her happy.
Enid puts on a bright pink coat and a bright pink Sherlock Holmes hat.
Enid: Are we ready to do this?!
Wednesday: Yes we are!
Yoko: You guys have a case?
Wednesday shakes her head.
